Self-Talk Creates Reality

Frustration Over Small Thinking

Yesterday I made a decision in my Goal Setting Class to introduce the idea of Thinking Big. To create a bigger, grander vision of Life and what is possible.

That didn't work.

Where people are right now is thinking small. Just to have just enough to get by and survive. I realize now that most people are not ready to have a grand, expansive vision.

All I can do is be a role model to show people with my own example and show that my Life is far better now than when it was 6 and a half years ago.

I tried to feed people steak when they are barely able to swallow milk so I need to adjust my approach accordingly.

But I also wonder if I need to move on to another field of work where I can work with people who have Big Dreams and plans to achieve them.

We shall see...

Be Obsessed With Finding A Better Way

This post is based on Episode 038 of The Goal Wizard Show

Hello!

In order to find a Better Way, one needs to develop a better mindset. When I was young, I identified myself as part of the "oppressed proletariat" and only a socialist revolution led by a vanguard party would lead humanity to a worker's paradise. Well, I've since grown up, and have changed my mind, although I do not see capitalism as being perfect, there is a lot that can be better, only problem I have is that any kind of perfect Utopian system looks good on paper, but doesn't work in the "real" world.

I want to be a "Progressive Capitalist" providing services that actually uplifts humanity. I believe it is possible to make a profit and be socially responsible.

So how do I find a better way? Rigorous work on Personal Development. Books, magazines, audio and video programs. And it is entirely selfish endeavor on my part. As much as I would like to get others around me excited about Personal Development, I realize now that I can only be a role model and example for others to follow. If they accept it, great, if not, that's alright too. Remember this:

Some will
Some won't
So What
Someone's waiting.

And always follow a strict Mental Diet. As you would not seek health from just eating candy, ice cream, potato chips and donuts, your mind needs mental protein. Seek that which uplifts and inspires. But if you care more about the Kardashians, Honey Boo Boo or Brad and Jennifer than your own life...well, it's always your  choice.

Have a great week!

Don't Be Like Most People

Hello!

Most people do not live fulfilled lives.

Most people are trapped doing work they hate.

Most people would rather entertain themselves rather than seek enlightenment.

Most people live only for the week-end or their days off.

Most people are fascinated with lives other than their own.

Most people never step into a book store.

Most people have a larger television rather than a large library.

But you are not most people. If you're reading this, you have a desire for a life that is above mediocrity, beyond bland, mindless conformity.

You have a Great Destiny to fulfill! Now go and find it before you have regrets over a wasted life.

To your Greatness,

Fail fast, learn, move on

This post is based on Episode 037 of The Goal Wizard Show

Many people believe that the opposite of success is failure. But that's not true. The opposite of success is mediocrity.

Now, I've failed in so many ways. I've been evicted from where I've lived four times, I have lost all my possessions twice, I've been homeless and out on the streets twice, I've had to spend 8 years in various halfway houses, I've lost several jobs I was actually good at and cared about, I tried starting my own business and failed at that...

What I understand now that I didn't understand before is I've just had LEARNING EXPERIENCES. I now have learned the lesson and discarded the experience. I do not spend any more time in reliving my "failures" in my head. I know better, so I do better.

An ancient joke:

PATIENT: Doctor! It hurts when I do this! [LIFTS ARM]
DOCTOR: Well then, stop doing that!

And when you make mistakes, make them in a hurry. Always do SOMETHING. Phil Knight of Nike famously said "You only have to succeed the last time."

So get out there and fail fast!
