Tim's "Ketch-up" Post

I apologize for not posting as soon as I would've liked.

My last broadcast wasn't as good as I would've liked either. I didn't speak from notes, and thus I forgot to talk about Optimal Thinking as I had promised in the description of the show. Next time I will be more diligent in this regard.

I hope everyone is doing well on their Goals for 2011. It's the end of January and what I've seen in the research is that by the beginning of February most New Year's resolutions get put aside; people stop going to the gym, diets are broken, drinking more continues, exercise equipment is sent to thrift stores or used as coatracks...you get the idea. To-morrow I have to do my CBS 60 Minutes Exercise I spoke of last year in an earlier post.

And I must apologize for not getting the link to the first version of The Secret with Esther Hicks channeling Abraham. It was on Google Video, but it was pulled. But I know it is out there somewhere...

Anyway, for my next post I'll go into more detail about Optimal Thinking.

have a Great Week!

Quit The Ain't It Awful Club

There may be times when you are in situations where it will seem easy to complain about How Bad Things Are. Now, there's a place in time to let off steam and vent and sometimes it feels good.

But staying in "Ain't it Awful" does nobody any good. If you're familiar with Law of Attraction principles you know that what you focus on expands. So when you focus on How Bad It Is...then you get more of How Bad It Is!

I will focus on this matter in more detail on an upcoming episode of The Goal Wizard Show but for now I want to stress this:

Look for solutions in every situation. Got a problem? That's good!

As long as you're alive and breathing, Life will be an ongoing series of problems, difficulties and obstacles. So when you focus on constructive action, you feel better, and then you make better decisions and you ARE better. My friends and co-workers always get the response from me when asked how I'm doing "Better and Better!"

So get out there and be better yourself!

The Goal Wizard Show Episode 001

Well, I accomplished at least one thing this week, and although it didn't go as well as I'd hoped, I did learn from the experience.

I put the first episode of my internet radio show on blogtalkradio. When I was done with the first episode, I was hard on myself. I had written two pages of notes as to what I wanted to cover, but that didn't work out so well. I tried to cover 30 years of my history and what had led my to the success I have to-day in a 30-minute format. I was stiff, I rushed things through, it was, I thought, a botched attempt.

But then I realized that I shouldn't be so hard on myself. OK, so the first show was the greatest and most polished show on blogtalkradio, and I'm competing with literally hundreds of other shows out there, and hey, it was a learning experience. And besides, how many other people do you know that would actually get out there and do a show? OK, so I stumbled a bit. That only means next week's show will be even better.

Anyway, The Goal Wizard will keep on keepin' on. Join me next Thursday @ 5:00 p.m. PST and let's create something great!

Again, tune in here .

2011:New Year, New (& Old) Challenges

Well, I thought I would be able to end last year with a bang. Turns out I did the very thing I (sometimes) denounced others doing. I got lazy and stupid for the first week of this year.

I decided to take a 2-week vacation, I figured I would catch up on my reading, work on my Goals and start my radio show. Instead, I've spent half the time in bed. Yes, I have spent HALF the day sleeping and the other half either reading (a good thing) or watching T-V (not so good). O, and I also engaged in "retail therapy", going not only to the Thrift Store but also to Borders and Barnes & Noble (I did get a few useful books I must say.).

I guess one excuse I could come up with is the current state of affairs in California where I live. The State is facing a budget deficit of over $25,000,000,000 and cuts in spending will have to be made. And that means, yes, cuts in social services, libraries and schools, among others. Now, I work at The Wellness Center in Stockton and we serve largely economically distressed members who have to live on very limited income so their options are limited. Quite a few of them just come to sit and hang around all the hours we're open. They don't avail themselves of the groups and classes we have to offer, which is OK. And we do make a positive impact on the ones who do.

What I'm considering doing now is either going into business for myself on the side while I still work or maybe joining with someone else who has an existing business. I made a modest Goal of earning $25,000 this year. Now, some people might say, "Come on Tim, you gotta think BIG." Well, I never have made more than $12,000 a year in my entire LIFE, so a BIG goal of say, $100,000 would be unrealistic for me.

Now, I'm saying this because as I've said, the social safety net we have in CA is unraveling. Since 2007 when I got out of nearly eight years of living in halfway houses to now, I've done well. I've had a roof over my head, good food and meaningful work. And I intend to keep the positive, prosperity mindset that has made much of this possible. And I want to continue to grow, expand and make a greater contribution. And that means taking greater chances in 2011.

Anyway, that's it for now. O, since I posted last, I found a much better explanation of laziness from our friend Brian Tracy. Enjoy.
